Who are we:
Go-Ahead London is the largest provider of bus services in London. We employ over 7,500 staff working from 16 locations. Our Recruitment & Training department provides a key support role for our operational locations in ensuring that we recruit and train sufficient drivers to maintain our services to the highest possible standard.

We are looking to recruit experienced full-time Classroom Trainers to work as part of a team within the Training section of our very busy Recruitment & Training Academy located at Camberwell. This role covers the delivery of a variety of training courses, including Driver CPC Periodic Training.

Applicants will need to meet the following MINIMUM criteria to apply:

Hold a valid PCV licence, an exception may be considered depending on experience.

Have a relevant qualification/s in the delivery/teaching of classroom-based training; such as PTLLS and AET

An excellent communicator who can relate complex and detailed issues to people who have little prior knowledge of the subject both orally and in writing

Computer literate with experience of packages such as Word, Excel and Power point

The ability to communicate clearly and concisely including the requirement to write detailed reports

A detailed and thorough knowledge of Highway Code, PCV regulations, and preferably, knowledge of the bus industry

An excellent attendance and work record

Previous experience in a learning/training environment dealing with apprentices would be a distinct advantage

The main duties of the post include:
Training new recruits to reach the standard required to pass the PCV theory test and the training as required for our Driver Apprenticeship Programme

Deliver presentations on a wide range of subjects including Highway Code, Theory Test, Driver CPC, Company Procedures, Health & Safety

To keep abreast of developments in the industry in so far as it impacts on our staff

To undertake other classroom-based training such as tickets, rotas & schedules, radio training, vehicle checking etc

Maintain statistical information relating to training provided and as required of an apprenticeship programme by Ofsted

This role will be full-time 5 days a week. The annual salary will be £32,366 per annum based upon a 38-hour week. The successful applicants would need to have a flexible approach to start and finish times to meet business requirements. There may be an occasional requirement to work at weekend and you will be required to undertake a DBS check.
