This Account Representative role involves the management of an extensive portfolio of customers within the Global Commercial Services organization, offering both T&E and B2B (non-T&E) solutions to promote the expansion of the relationship and growth of the charge volume. The person in this role will be responsible for the management of the relationship, retention, account development execution, issue resolution, and all other relevant customer facing activities, including engagement with internal partners to successfully find solutions to day-to-day challenges. An over-the-phone position that calls for extensive workloads and daily targets of calls and numerous special assignments. Critical focus is placed on the development of existing relationships and volume growth.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in English, will be comfortable with intense workloads, teamwork, and continuous learning, and will demonstrate competency in managing difficult conversations with ease.

Key Responsibilities:
Management of an extensive portfolio of accounts to achieve retention and growth goals.

Achieve monthly targets of outbound calls focused on client data updates, including contact information, financial information, and other details, and successfully update all relevant databases.

Deepen all existing client relationships, trust, and commitment to the American Express brand.

Respond to client operational issues rapidly and effectively. Issues can be referred but not limited to account concerns, need of additional cards, declining charges, expansion of program, reporting questions and support, data files, payment processes, card benefits, program changes, administrator roles, updates to company information, changes to program setup, updates to Card Members information, and other issues related to the account.

Understand operational processes and systems which will be part of their daily activities.

Be available to support colleagues and leaders in additional activities that may arise based on business needs.

Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.

Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related branch of studies; An Associate Degree with sufficient experience may be considered, however a degree is preferred.

2-3 years of specific experience with over-the-phone relationship management.

Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office tools. Additional knowledge of ONE.force is desirable.

Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written).

Available to work full time in-person on a standard business schedule.
