Northrop Grumman Enterprise Shared Services is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support the Accounts Payable team.
The selected individual will report to the manager of Accounts Payable Solutions and will utilize SAP and Open Text to support Accounts Payable functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, company policies and procedures, disclosure statements, and government regulations, as they relate to our accounts payable tasks.
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Non-processing duties such as cost transfer adjustments, processing refund checks, researching and clearing items that have gone into an exception status, and helping coordinate and assisting with month end close activities and occasional posting of invoices
Must demonstrate excellent customer service, be a strong team player with a collaborative mindset, and be able and willing to provide guidance and support to other Accounts Payable Colleagues
Knowledge of FATCA and tax compliance would be a plus
This person will be an instrumental to the completion of projects and goals associated within the A/P area
Coordinating with multiple team members to ensure month end close activities are completed timely will be a major responsibility.
The ability to professionally communicate related accounting policies and procedures.
The ability to multitask and work independently to meet service delivery agreements
Research and respond to audit requests
The ability to develop solutions using a logical thought process and approach to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Support month-end requirements
Prepare/review multiple reports on a monthly basis within required time frame
Complete special projects as assigned
1 to 3 years of Experience in Accounts Payable or General Accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
Intermediate skills in Excel and thorough knowledge of other Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook
Excellent customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and accounting orientation, and the ability to multi-task and mange time
Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or another related field
Experience in a Financial Services Environment
Advanced Excel Skills
Understanding of FAR, GAAP, and SOX requirements.
Salary Range: $46,600 USD – $69,800 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
