Job Description
Reporting to the Supervisor or Manager, this position performs a variety of duties including, but not limited to: Optical Scanner. Receives paper requisitions, prepares for scanning, reviews for completeness, loads and operates scanner. Redirects some requisitions to Data Integrity. Corrects errors in scanning by validating bar codes, and keying in correct information. Publishes requisitions to optic storage that allows them to be retrieved on the network. Performs quality assurance activities on DocVue. Collects and collates data for monthly quality reports. Batches and archives requisitions for storage as per retention guidelines. Moves boxes to designated receiving area for collection. The job is frequently expected to lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing more than 20 lbs. (with or without the assistance of mobile, powered equipment. Mailroom Collects and sorts patient charts.Collects, sorts, and delivers interdepartmental mail. Prepares bulk mail-outs. Sends external mail via Canada Post using postage meter. Labels and makes extra report copies for referral lab charts. Collaborates with internal and external clients to ensure efficient and timely distribution of mail.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
6 months previous Mail room experience. Experience within the past 3 years preferred. Computer and keyboarding skills and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Cerner Millennium LIS.
