We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, organized and motivated individual to assume the position of Administrative Assistant with our Administration Department.

Under the supervision of the Senior Executive Assistant, and general direction of the City Clerk, the incumbent is responsible for a range of administrative services for senior management and departmental managers, including special assignments as related to a range of City projects. This work will include but is not limited to: maintaining filing systems, recording, distributing and replying to mail, preparing correspondence, setting up for meetings and updating content on the City’s website.

This position requires advanced administrative, computer and communication skills. The incumbent must possess the experience, knowledge and ability to operate numerous computer software programs simultaneously. Tact and diplomacy are essential as are judgment skills. This position also requires the incumbent to be conversant with and to possess the ability to develop an understanding of relevant municipal subject matters.

These skills are normally acquired through the completion of grade 12 and an administrative program diploma as well as a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field which has included the use of a variety of computer software programs.
