SERVICE AREA: Administration – Human Resources

LOCATION: Kerry’s Place Head Office – Aurora

POSITION STATUS: Temporary Full-time (Contract to March 31, 2021; two weeks written notice prior to contract end)

HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week

HOURLY PAY RATE: $18.27 – $22.83 per hour

CLOSING DATE: 4:30pm, September 22, 2020

About the Role: Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Assistant will provide administrative support to the Human Resources department. The Human Resources Assistant will support the Mission, Vision, Values, Principles, Policies and Procedures of Kerry’s Place through their actions and will work with the Human Resources team to create a welcoming and supportive environment for employees of Kerry’s Place, persons supported and members of the public.

Assist in the preparation and coordination of meetings, training sessions, information sessions and events.

Establish and maintain files, records and databases.

Review and screen all incoming employee documentation.

Record, prepare and distribute meeting minutes, data presentations, letters and notices.

Perform routine administrative duties.

Be familiar with Legislation and Regulations such as the Employment Standards Act, PIPEDA and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Provide HR metrics reports and assist in the development of enhancements and utilization of existing features of the HRMS.

Responsible for creating, communicating, tracking, ensuring consistency and posting of any job openings.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
A college diploma in Human Resources or a Certificate in Human Resource Management with complementary experience in HR as well as five years of progressive office administrative experience or equivalent.

Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision and within prescribed timelines.

Ability to be flexible and motivated in dealing with fluctuating and unpredictable workload.

Minute-taking/proof-reading/formatting skills as required to provide accurate and timely output and to meet professional standards.

French language skills will be considered an asset.
