Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is currently seeking an Administrative Support II to provide exceptional customer service to enhance the patient experience in the Patient Service Centres. The Administrative Support II is responsible for performing a variety of duties including but not limited to: greeting and triaging patients, entering test orders from various requisitions into the Laboratory Information System, and general administrative duties; including timekeeping. Our hours of operation fall between 0630-2100 hours.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in data entry. Will be required to complete a keyboarding challenge to meet a minimum of 8500 gross keystrokes per hour with at least 90% accuracy. Demonstrated ability to communicate and respond to questions in a clear and professional manner. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates a high standard of customer service by assessing and meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders. Maintains a professional image and positive attitude while promoting an inclusive, positive, and respectful work environment at all times. Ability to build positive working relationships and work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. Demonstrates personal leadership through change and promotes change initiatives. Ability to meet deadlines and benchmarks while consistently displaying a high level of attention to detail. Displays accountability for actions and learns from mistakes. Follows established policies and procedures to ensure the privacy and safety of customers, co-workers, and self. Any Canadian equivalency to English 30 or 33 or CLBA score of Benchmark 8 completed within the last 6 months. A Criminal Record Check, including a vulnerable sector search, satisfactory to APL valid within the last three months.
Relevant post-secondary education (E.g. Medical Office Assistant certificate). Previous data entry experience; experience within the last 6 months preferred. Healthcare or clinical laboratory experience with knowledge of laboratory tests delivered. Medical Terminology and knowledge of medical laboratory testing. Experience, courses or training in customer service and/or data entry. Demonstrated Microsoft Office computer skills.
