Reporting directly to the Business Manager in the Division of Neurosurgery, Edmonton Zone, this position is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to members of the Division. Working with a team in a fast paced environment, you will be responsible for arranging and coordinating patient clinics, surgical procedures, diagnostic testing as well as assisting with the completion and reporting of academic activities. As this position serves as a liaison between patients, physicians and other support services, the incumbent must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills and must demonstrate initiative, flexibility and maintain confidentiality.
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education in the Medical Office Assistant, Unit Clerk or combined MOA/Unit Clerk Course with a minimum of three years of directly applicable experience in a health care setting. Medical terminology and transcription are mandatory. Candidate will have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; excellent written and verbal communication skills; critical thinking skills along with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills are required with the ability to work under pressure and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands.
