SunIRef:cr007 Position Summary: Crane ChemPharma Flow Solutions is a division within the Fluid Handling Business Segment of Crane Co, a US multi-national which specializes in highly engineered products in niche markets. Crane ChemPharma designs, manufactures, markets and distributes a range of process valves and actuators under the Saunders, Xomox, Revo and Resistoflex brand names for a wide range of applications in a number of industries including the chemical and biopharmaceutical industries. The Lined Products product range is a global product brand of Krombach valves serving demanding applications in different industrial sectors. XOMOX Lined Products are designed for chemical applications requiring reliable zeroleakage, bi-directional shut-off in harsh conditions of critical processes, where corrosion is prominent, especially when use of soft-seated materials in valves is limited. The Lined Products is manufactured in three global sites in the US, Hungary, and China. The Lined Products Applications Specialist provides technical expertise by application, identifies distinct competitive advantages versus competitors and provides training and education to sales teams and customers. Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to): Provides front-end technical sales support, and assists Account Managers / Sales Engineers to provide pre-sale and post-sale technical support. Assist engineering in trouble shooting problems with applications, products of manufacturing. Assist with operations to improve production possess and quality. Develops technical analysis of products and applications (ours versus competitors). Develops training materials which high light competitive technical advantages. Delivers training to internal and external sales resources. Conducts customer symposiums to share data and promote our products. Identifies opportunities for new product development, which support existing application and improve our value proposition or technical advantage. Plays an active role in the new product development process, assisting Business Managers in researching new product ideas. Monitors competitor technical changes in product- current and new product initiatives. Provides resources to assist Business Managers to execute business models. Provides support to Business Managers to perform competitive benchmarking. Assists Regional Sales Director to identify and pursue projects / prospects. Assists Business Managers to develop demand forecasts. Assists Global Industry Manager with applications / segments. Assists in the development of the annual ChemPharma operating plan. Assists Marketing Manager to identify exhibitions. Assists Regional Sales Director in following-up on open invoices. May be required to participate in technical specifications and contract review for major projects. May be required to assist Business Manager with strategic geographic sales initiatives. Essential Qualifications / Experience: Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English including technical and business understanding. Able to communicate in other languages an advantage. Rapid learning ability Experience in the chemical or refinery process industry or with a distributor supplying primarily to these industries. Experience in developing technical presentations of products and applications (ours versus competitors).
