BAE Systems Manassas is looking for an ASIC Program Manager to support the Space line of business for the Electronic Solutions sector. Known as an industry leader for its suite of radiation hardened products, BAE Manassas leverages decades of expertise to build a robust Space product line. We currently have an opening for a Program Manager II in the Space Systems business area. The role provides an opportunity within the Space Systems Business Area’s Program management function. Based in Manassas, VA and reporting to the Space Computers & Products Director, this position is a great opportunity for an employee interested in program management. As a Program Manager II, this individual shall:

Have demonstrated, proven Program Management skills such as cost, schedule, scope and risk management expertise

Be familiar with Space quality manufacturing and test

Represent BAE Systems as the primary customer interface

Be highly motivated to work the front end of the business capture process prior to RFP and to effectively lead proposal teams for small and intermediate sized opportunities

Have a computer hardware technical background and be able to interact with internal and customer engineers

Lead the execution of a portfolio of projects including hardware development and production programs

Provide leadership and mentoring to emerging program managers

Collaborate with Program Managers, Business Development and Engineering to identify new business opportunities and execution strategies for Space Systems Product Lines

Collaborate with Operations to understand and resolve procurement and manufacturing issues

Make strategic decisions in a fast paced environment

Ensure that opportunities receive the necessary support from the functional organizations to achieve program objectives

Ensure effective utilization of New Business resources within the business area to achieve technical and competitive advantages in the marketplace

Possess effective written and verbal communication skills to interface with the program team, line and executive management, customers and suppliers

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a technical/engineering field of study and 10+ years of applicable work experience.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

10+ years of applicable experience with BS in a technical field of study

8+ years of applicable experience with MS in a technical field of study

PMP Certification

Space hardware design, procurement, or manufacturing experience

Experience working in a FAR/DFAR environment
