The Large Power Systems Division located in Lafayette, IN currently has openings for Assembly Technicians. In this role you will assemble components and perform adjustments on both diesel and natural gas engines. You could also perform assembly work in sub-assembly areas directly associated with prime product engine assembly. In addition, assemblers prepare engines for testing, painting and shipping of prime product.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Work includes but not limited to assembly of large engines
Work includes the use of:
gauges and measuring devices
specialized torque equipment
electrical testing equipment
The ability to manipulate engine components during the assembly process.
The ability to learn the technical aspects of engine assembly, including troubleshooting and repair of in process engines.
Requires computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications.
Requires the ability to interpret engineering prints and factory paperwork.
Requires the ability and willingness to work overtime when needed.
Requires a flexible, self-directed individual with a strong sense of teamwork and good communication skills.
Requires support of safety, quality, and production goals of the area.
Required to complete and pass Basic Assembly Training.
Required to take Written Assembly Assessment
Applicant must have two years of professional job-related experience in auto/diesel/farm construction maintenance and repair or 2-year technical degree in diesel engine, automotive, electrical, electronics, or agricultural/construction equipment technology.
Strong electrical and mechanical background.
Possess an excellent attendance and safety record

Must be able to lift and manipulate engine components during the assembly process
Must be able to use hand and pneumatic tools as well as automatic torque equipment
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Previous Engine Assembly Manufacturing Experience
Diesel Engine Schooling / Technical Degree
Engine Assembly / Disassembly / Rebuild / Repair (more than changing oil)
Previous experience operating a crane/hoist in a manufacturing setting
ASE Certification for diesel or gas engines
Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, technical environment.
Work may involve frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8+ hours.
All positions also require the ability to lift 25 pounds and withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling.
Some positions require the ability to perform tasks on a moving conveyor under time constraints
Location of this position is in Lafayette, IN

Compensation & Benefits Offered!
Starting hourly pay rate of $19.11
40-hour work weeks with potential for Overtime
1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts offered- Shift Premium for 2nd and 3rd Shift
