Job Description

The Travel Section is part of the Payroll and Corporate Support Branch within the Corporate and Cross Government Services Division. The Assistant Director – Travel is responsible for managing the Travel functions for the agency and Shared Services clients. They are responsible for delivery of quality client service, providing support services, specialised knowledge, best practices, and technology to serve agency staff, shared services clients and business partners. The role also include the collection and examination of information, and contributing to the work area’s reports, briefing, findings, decision making or recommendations using an evidence-based approach. They use an investigative approach to implement solutions to complex matters and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policy and frameworks. They are responsible for leading, supporting and developing a team to achieve quality outcomes to support the agency’s strategic objectives. Working under the broad direction of senior staff, they exercise a considerable degree of independence, with decision making substantially dependent on their own professional judgement and consideration of wider agency implications.
