What You’ll Be Doing
To provide high quality adult and older children audiology assessment and intervention service to the patients, clients and carers of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD), who have complex medical disorders in order to promote optimal health outcomes.
The Level 4 Audiologist
Has a recognised clinical specialty within Adult audiology or a high level of broad generalist knowledge requiring high levels of clinical expertise and knowledge in complex medical disorders of hearing in adults and older children.
Demonstrates advanced reasoning skills and operate autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision
Provides clinical services to all client groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills
Is responsible for the clinical supervision and support of audiology staff working in the service i.e. Level 1 – 3 audiologists and audiometrists
Has consultative role across a broad range of clinical areas in audiology
Conducts clinical research and participate in the provision of clinical in-service education programmes to staff and students
Is responsible for efficient and effective delivery of clinical services, ensuring the unit’s performance is of the highest professional and clinical standard
Provides advice to the Head of Discipline Speech Pathology on clinical service delivery development, practise and redesign.
Provides leadership in planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on clinical services
Holds a significant leadership position within the department, and will work to develop and maintain a high functioning team that delivers excellent clinical and operational outcomes.

Must hold a Masters degree in clinical audiology which provides eligibility for full membership of the Audiological Society of Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
Extensive post graduate clinical experience in managing complex medical Adult audiological caseload.
Demonstrated strong problem solving, time management, and prioritisation skills.
Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication, and strong computer literacy skills.
Demonstrated experience leading service evaluation and development.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a, multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to provide senior level of supervision to staff and/or student.
Current unrestricted drivers licence and willingness to travel for work purposes.
