An Associate Vice President, Quality & Analytics (“AVP, Q&A”) will run the Quality & Analytics of
an engagement or multiple engagements on a day-to-day basis. They will answer the questions of data check QCers and work with Training to understand questions/issues that may be arising throughout the course of a review or multiple reviews. The AVP, Q&A will perform a data quality review and coordinate with resources within the Quality & Analytics team to ensure required data checks are performed. In this role, the AVP, Q&A will identify trends in the transaction and potential missing data elements.
The AVP, Q&A will be responsible for providing the Transaction Management group (AVP, Transaction Management, VP, Client Services, SVP, Client Services) with a high-quality work product so that minimal time is required to be spent on clean-up activities. During the review, the AVP will send updates to the AVP, Transaction Management about information items that are causing frequent data errors or changes in review scope. AVPs may act as a VP, Q&A fill-in if the VP, Q&A is not present or on PTO.
Essential Job Functions:
Utilize system reports throughout QC process to review compliance failures, data comparison errors, potential input or user error, review patterns, data errors, etc.
Filter through reports looking for anomalies and ensuring that the QC process is being properly run for the transaction in question
Maintain visibility into the status of each deal by ensuring the data validation and data check stages are performed in the correct status in the system
Work closely with the AVP, Transaction Management and CSMs (VP/SVP) to ensure that any job specific items are understood, expectations (quality & timeliness) are known, etc.
Working closely with the VP, Q&A and the Production Department, primarily through VP, Operations – Quality Control, to identify reporting goals, expected completion timelines, etc.
Answer questions of Quality Control reviewers working on data clean-up on their projects
Work with the Training Department to ensure frequent pain points are being communicated to the staff and incorporated into continuing education and/or new hire training
AVPs may also elevate, as appropriate, compliance items to the Compliance Help Desk for further investigation
Verify, where appropriate, that critical exceptions are correctly applied.
Remove duplicative exceptions / information and ensure a consistency in the product
Identify performance trends and potential enhancements so that such items can be analyzed and potential incorporated into system changes (QC workflow enhancements, validations, processes, etc.)
Identify staff needs or identified issues requiring special training (group or individual) and communicate to Client Service Manager and SVP, Head of Underwriting
Compare seller info vs review information for discrepancies in data or red flags
Ensure that the correct decision has been made by the analyst based upon review scope
Identify any additional red flags and discrepancies noted during the initial review
Ensure applicable reports are generated and necessary corrections made to loan file
Provide constructive feedback to analysts to develop and refine their abilities and growth
QC of loans to promote a better-quality review, provide feedback to analysts and quality deliverables to clients
