Hours: 37 per week

Working Pattern: Occasional Evening & Weekend Working

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £22,462 – £24,799 per annum (City Pay Band 3)

Location: Cambridge City Crematorium and Newmarket Road Cemetery

Driving: A full driving licence is required

Cambridge Bereavement Services Team are looking for an exceptional individual to join their committed team as a full time Bereavement Services Officer.

In this varied role you will undertake all administrative tasks whilst adhering to Council policies, statutory legislation, codes of practice and the ICCM Charter for the Bereaved. You will carry out all duties associated with burials, cremation and memorialisation and we will look to you to demonstrate your skills in a professional and sympathetic manner.

With the ability to form, build and maintain strong effective working partnerships you will be well organised and methodical and will have the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. The role is varied and will include a range of tasks from ensuring that all areas of the crematoria and associated buildings are maintained to a high degree of cleanliness to acting as a chapel attendant during funeral services.

You will come to us with excellent communication skills and highly developed administration skills as well as being approachable and empathetic. A team player you will be flexible and have a willingness to undertake further training within the role.

As Bereavement Services Officer you will be required to travel between sites and drive City Council vehicles, therefore a full driving licence is required.

In addition, working occasional evenings & weekends will be a requirement of the post.
