Approach Personnel are pleased to be working with a designer and manufacturer of Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA) and CCTV systems to the worldwide Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation and Military sectors.

Due to maternity they are recruiting a Bids and Proposal Coordinator on a fixed term contract of 15 months. Success in this role could lead to a permanent position as the company continues to grow. A transition to a permanent role could lead to several career path choices within the company, such as UK / overseas sales, other commercial roles or many of the technical and engineering positions within the company.

The role

This is a vital and specialist position, essential in driving the business forward, and a comprehensive training programme will be provided.

As part of the sales team, and with technical support, you will interpret customer requirements & specifications then produce and submit comprehensive quotes and bid documents. Throughout the process you will maintain contact with the customer by phone / email and ensure an excellent level of customer service right through to order placement.

Essential qualifications / skills include;

Certificates in Maths, English and IT discipline or relevant industry experience.

Demonstration of applicable computer skills – competent use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. (Visio – advantageous)

Upon completion of training, the post-holders’ skills and responsibilities will include as follows:

Review and log clients’ enquiries

Using sales database (MS Excel) to track and record customer bids

Preparation of sales proposals (MS Excel / Word)

Follow up all quotes by phone / email

Interaction with technical and sales teams to put together compliant quotations

Work with sales team to devise and execute sales strategies

Production of marketing material including datasheets, newsletters

Distribution of sales literature to partners, clients and potential clients

Preparation of compliance statements and system drawings

Work in accordance with our QAQC system

Any additional duties as deemed appropriate by line manager
