To manage Health & Safety systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company policy and appropriate standards for the Company in Ireland specifically ISO 45001:2018 and to provide support where appropriate in the USA.

To ensure that business is carried out in buildings which are safe, secure, and maintained in a compliant manner in alignment with operational goals across safety, quality, environmental, service and cost objectives.

Job Location: Dublin Head Office

Your responsibilities

To drive all Health Safety & Environment (HSE) matters and actively participate in continuous improvement projects within the company

To be responsible for, developing and maintaining the HSE documentation and systems and other relevant documentation within the company in Ireland with subsequent implementation

To ensure that all employees of Cylon Controls Ltd and its subsidiaries, and all employees working on any project which the company is responsible for, are familiar with Health Safety and Environment matters and have the appropriate training, information and knowledge of HSE matters within the company

To manage the Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification process

To arrange Health and Safety Training in accordance with Statutory requirements

To monitor and review Safe Operating Procedures to ensure effectiveness and compliance at all levels

Provide support to USA Team as appropriate

Conduct an annual HSE building survey

Conduct internal audits in conjunction with the Audit Team. Assists teams and take the lead during external certification audits.

Investigate accidents and incidents and make changes where necessary

Ensure Corrective Action Preventative Actions (CAPA) are completed and closed out in a timely fashion

Maintain Legal Registers including identification of legal requirements and evaluation of compliance and communicate with legal entities to ensure compliance

To maintain BS ISO 45001 Standard for Health and Safety Management

To act as an advisor to the company management team and safety representative

To coordinate activities of the Health and Safety Committee and Fire Marshalls

To carry out workstation assessments on all employees as required by Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act General Regulations 2007

To implement the ABB Way HSE/SA Management System

To achieve and maintain BS ISO 14001 Environment Management System

To manage Business Continuity Planning

To manage the HSE Budget as set by the Financial Controller

Liaise with the facility management team to ensure continuous improvement of buildings and associated services in line with the company business needs and in compliance with HSE regulatory bodies

Act as Construction Supervisor for Design Phase (CSDP) and Construction Phase (CSCP) when works are being carried out onsite in accordance with Construction Regulations 2013

To undertake any other duties as specified by the company

Your background

5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Hold a recognised HSE qualification Degree or equivalent

Hold IOSH Membership preferably to Graduate Level

Experience in conducting Risk assessments, preparation of assessment reports

Hold internal auditor certification

Strong working knowledge of Irish Health and Safety legislation

Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety and Environment management systems specifically BS ISO 45001 and BS ISO 14001

Experience of working in a manufacturing, maintenance environment

Experience of Business Continuity Management

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office skills: Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook essential

Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and telephone manner with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people both external and within the organisation

Ability to multi-task and prioritise

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

Ability to work on their own initiative – self-starter
