Are you looking for an opportunity to lead and provide central oversight over end-to-end supply chain activities? Our Enterprise Supply Chain team is looking for a Category Manager to own the development, implementation, and ongoing management strategy for the Cloud and Saas procurement categories on behalf of the Freddie Mac enterprise.

Your Impact:
The Category Manager will lead end-to-end development and management of assigned categories, including the category profile, category strategy, sourcing plan, projects, contracts, supplier relationships and performance, setting and managing to savings targets. Preferred category experience includes Cloud, Saas, and Software licensing and services. Other responsibilities include –

In-depth and current understanding of supply/commodity markets and use sourcing methodologies to drive category(s)
Collaborate with business leaders on their needs and develop category strategy to drive and support functional business goals and objectives
Build enterprise savings targets for identified categories
Support the maturation of the category management function within Enterprise Supply Chain through the development of new tools/templates/collateral, process improvement, and reporting
Execute strategy and work toward developing a sourcing pipeline and cohesive cost-saving agreements
Conduct category review meetings with team and with business partners on a recurring basis to ensure alignment with the businesses strategic wave plan and alignment across all procurement functions on category strategy and initiatives
Achieve category spend savings targets and objectives utilizing spend analytics, sourcing events, and market data and trends to drive TCO value and a positive return on investment
Accountable for internal partner critical metrics for category(s) and support supplier scorecard for external partner critical metrics
Become a valued trusted partner with business leads
BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required
10+ years broad-based experience across supply chain, with particular focus in category management, purchasing, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, driven price analysis, supplier relationship management and performance management
Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to analyze data and develop thoughtful business/category points of view
Budget and P&L management experience – desire a person that has handled spend efficiency results that are aligned with broader P&L management
Deep expertise in the category, understanding of current market conditions consistent track record to drive savings using different category strategies
Strong analytical skills are required with experience in spend analysis tools and performing spend analysis using Excel
Proven track record in independently executing sophisticated RFPs including business outsourcing
Strong contract negotiations skills
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP) designation / Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) is a plus
