Essential Job Functions:

Demonstrates high-level leadership, working with cross-functional teams on strategies and goals requiring cultural and organizational change, removing bureaucratic barriers between departments and the psychological hurdles against working together with a collaborative attitude; Instructs, demonstrates, and monitors the process of how to establish, assess, maintain, and improve every relationship they have with co-workers, supervisors, team members, and staff. Promotes communication and fosters a can-do attitude. Analyzes and responds to needs of the entire organization as a strategic partner and team member.

Develops new growth opportunities that identify, prioritize, launch and drive new products, services, and business models; works closely with the business teams on product development to create viable business models and commercialization strategies ensuring each product is revenue generating and profitable; promote the agency’s innovation agenda, fostering openness and transparency to drive collaborative change.

Builds and grows innovation capabilities that develop/maintain strong ties with teams; educates/trains teams on new solutions/innovations; drives innovation, presentations, and innovation sessions; acts as the Innovation champion for the entire organization; drives innovation internally and externally to influence the brand in the market and to create pull for creative talent; educates and provides necessary support for new innovators in the agency and leads by example; tracks and reports on innovation metrics and business impact on a regular basis.

Champions innovation that establishes GBHEM as a recognized innovation leader internally and externally to build brand and to attract and retain talent; identifies external assets that will accelerate innovation; implements strategies for agency-wide innovation and implementation of key products and initiatives.

Provides oversight of Marketing & Communications, ensuring needs of the entire agency are met.

Manages and supervises the day-to-day operations of all innovative projects, including budgeting, supervision of staff, and performance evaluation of direct reports.

Performs other tasks as assigned.

Major Accountabilities:

Uses innovation to differentiate GBHEM in the different constituent markets, provide unique value to customers and help build long-term relationships with customers, ensuring each product generates revenue and positive cash flow for the agency.

Evangelizes innovation so GBHEM is viewed as innovative, visionary and a market leader by respective constituencies, customers, industry groups, and media, especially within the UMC organization and structure.

Creates an innovation strategy that is understood and endorsed by key stakeholders including executive leadership, CRS and ARS teams, employees, customers/constituents, and the Board of Directors.

Job Standards:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, appropriate to essential job functions and major accountabilities, is required. Master’s Degree or an MBA is highly desired.

Other Specialized Knowledge: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong organizational skills; strong presentation skills; effective communications skills, both written and oral; system/ project planning and implementation.
