Right now we are looking for a Clerical Support Associate to work at the COVID-19 Surgical Pre-screening Department located at our Wilson Site
Reporting Relationship: Manager, Surgical Pre-screening
Hourly Rate Range: $25.229-$26.113
Schedule Requirements: Must be available for all rotating shifts
Location: Surgical Pre-screening– Wilson site (subject to change)
Responsible for clerical support including patient registration, admission, discharge, payroll, scheduling, maintenance of patient records, order entry and statistics.
Responsible for clerical support to provide information/notifications to both the Surgical and Peri-operative teams
Responsible for customer service including scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, telephone inquiries, greeting patients and visitors in a courteous manner both in the COVID 19 clinic and the Surgical call Centre.
Communicates with the Command Center and the Emergency Department and other services to arrange for patient transfer to the Emergency Department.
Communicates with other departments, service areas and as required
Other duties assigned
High school graduate or equivalent.
Completion of a Community College Medical Secretary Diploma an asset.
Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
Minimum 1 year full time equivalent recent clerical experience required, preferably in a health care setting.
Good keyboarding skills, with minimum typing speed of 40 WPM required.
Computer skills required, keyboarding 40 wpm required.
Meditech computer experience is required.
Community-wide scheduling experience required.
Good organizational and problem solving skills required, including an ability to prioritize a varied and busy workload. Demonstrated ability to cope with tight deadlines, frequent interruptions and emergency situations
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment
Knowledge of a second language an asset
Demonstrated customer service skills.
Applicants may be required to successfully complete full administrative testing, to include typing speed and MS Office.
Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
