As our Debt Management Services Team continues to grow, we are looking for a number of Collections Officers to come on board! If you have debt management/recovery experience and you are looking for full-time, part time or potentially weekend work, this could be just what you are looking for!

We have developed an approach which will help government departments to reduce operational costs, improve collections rates and make sure debtors are cared for at every stage of the collections’ lifecycle. We’ve crafted a Debt Management process which considers the organisation’s need for timely collection, as well as the debtor’s requirements at each stage of the lifecycle.

We have now been successfully appointed to the Crown Commercial Service, Debt Recovery Services Framework and under this, public sector organisations (the Buyers) are now able to utilise our debt recovery services. What you will be doing:

  • You will work as part of a team collecting overdue debts by telephone and email
  • Undertake affordability assessments with debtors via Income and Expenditure reviews
  • Effective daily contact with SSFS clients, debtors and departmental stakeholders
  • Challenging debtors to ensure that the responses received with regards to reviews and ability to pay are fair and accurate
  • Managing difficult calls to assist the caller, whilst working towards a successful outcome
  • Contribute to improving the debtor journey and success rates
  • Make decisions on future recovery options of debt that has completed collection lifecycle.
  • Ensure security, integrity, and confidentiality of all data What you will bring:
  • Experience of working in a debt recovery or credit control position
  • Can demonstrate being able to thrive in a target driven environment
  • Ability to build effective and positive relationships whilst delivering a high standard of customer service
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to challenge where appropriate clients and their debtors
  • Seek to solve problems and suggest solutions before having to escalate them
  • Attention to detail is crucial as all debtor interaction must be recorded for audit purposes

Internal Recruiter: Rachel Salary: £24,000 to £26,000 depending upon experience
