About the team

The Commercial Function, led by the Deputy Executive Director, Commercial Project Delivery (West) within Sydney Metro West, is part of the Finance & Commercial Division reporting to the Chief Finance & Commercial Officer (CFCO). The Deputy Executive Director is supported by a number of Directors Commercial for work packages for Tunnels, Stations & Stations Systems, Line wide, Train, Signalling & Train Control, and Enabling. This role will report to the Senior Manager Commercial for the relevant Tunnel Package.

The Opportunity

We are looking for experienced individuals with strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement experience for the two Construction / Delivery Contract Managers to join our commercial team on Sydney Metro West.

These are fixed term opportunities up to February 2026.

The Eastern Tunnelling Package consists of approximately 2.5 kilometre long twin metro railway TBM tunnels between The Bays and Hunter Street station sites, including mined cross passages and the excavation of new Stations at Pyrmont and Hunter Street.

The Central Tunnelling Package consists of approximately11 kilometre long twin metro railway TBM tunnels between The Bays and Sydney Olympic Park station sites, including mined cross passages and the excavation of new Stations at The Bays, Five Dock, Burwood North, North Strathfield & Sydney Olympic Park.

The role will see you providing contract management leadership and support during the contract procurement and project delivery phases of the Tunnelling Package, whilst working in collaboration with high performing, integrated teams. You will be a strategic thinker and assist on commercial matters in relation to the delivery and contract management of the Tunnelling Package. Focused on realising whole of project commercial positions, you will drive commercial integrity and leadership in risk management and benefits realisation. You will ensure commercial consistency together with achieving value for money outcomes.

During project delivery, you will support the Tunnelling Package contract management activities, including implementing controls, administration, dispute avoidance and commercial resolutions.

Key to your success will be your ability to:
Implement project contract management framework and dispute resolution requirements that comply with government guidelines, policies and align with industry best practice

Manage and deliver projects as directed and participate in post implementation reviews to ensure benefits realisation and understand lessons to be learned

Provide specialist advice on commercial matters and implement contract administration activities for assigned contracts, and in relation to contract negotiations, providing assurance relative to the consistency of project tender documentation and contribute to the evaluation of tenders

Assist in the management of the activities of specialist advisors in regard to monitoring of process and performance outcomes for contract management

Ensure accurate and timely project reporting which facilitates the effective management of risks and successful project delivery

Contribute to the development, implementation and maintaining of all project variation and claims positions including the management of project insurance requirements and claims

Demonstrate the five ways of leading behaviours to deliver organisational outcomes for our customers, our people and communities for the greater good.

Salary and Benefits
