In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of our departments across the province will require additional staffing to support our fight against COVID-19; while continuing to provide the best possible health care services to Manitobans.
Manitoba recognizes the hard work and dedication of our front-line heath care providers and we are looking for additional experienced health care providers to offer support during these unprecedented and challenging times, to help provincial efforts to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.
Positions are available across the province at sites and locations operated/funded by Manitoba health regions and service providers. Employees will be hired by Shared Health. Accepting a position with the COVID-19 Casual Pool will NOT impact your existing employment.

Call Centre Screening
Answers incoming calls from health care employees to complete screening for symptoms and answer contact and travel questions.
Provides instructions for testing requirements and attending workplace.
Responsible for COVID19 contact tracing involving health care employees.
On notification of a potential contact with a COVID19 case:
Notifies the Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health designate of the site/program where the potential contact works.
Contacts the potential contact and:
obtains all dates, times, locations the employee was at work.
obtains information about PPE used.
obtains information regarding the potential contact’s symptoms.
obtains information regarding employees who may have been exposed to the potential contact.
Contacts the potential contact’s manager to confirm dates, times, locations where the employee worked and to obtain information regarding all other employees who may have had exposure to the potential contact.
Interviews all employees potentially exposed to the potential contact to determine:
Length of possible exposure.
Determines if potential contact requires testing and whether should self-isolate or self-monitor.
Provides potential contact with link to resources for testing, self-monitoring, self-isolating as applicable.
Communicates to potential contact’s Manager/Human Resources direction provided.
Notifies Public Health and Infection Prevent & Control of any concerns for follow-up of any patients and contacts outside the workforce.
One-year recent experience in a health care setting required.
Data entry experience as asset.
Occupational Health experience an asset.
Call center experience an asset.
Regulated Health Care Professionals required. Those Health Care Professionals not currently regulated, including Paramedics, may be considered.
Active Member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as applicable.
Qualifications and Skills
Respectful of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds of employees, patients and their family members.
Basic computer skills required.
Excellent communication skills oral and written.
Conscientious, organized and attention to detail.
Ability to adhere to the site safety policies, confidentiality, and dress code.
Compliance with workplace safely, PPE policies and procedures required.
Position involves sitting and talking for sustained periods of time.
Good physical and mental health, visual, aural acuity and manual dexterity required.
The Collective Agreement this position is covered under, is identified by the Union noted above. As a result of The Health Sector Bargaining Unit Review Act, the bargaining agent for this position may differ from the Union identified. This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
