The Department of Transportation, Maintenance District 12-5, is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 in Westmoreland County. 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Lunch break: 30 minutes
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Washes, waxes, dusts and polishes floors, furniture and fixtures, cleans and polishes brass, cleans lavatories and replaces lavatory supplies, dispose of waste paper, vacuums and scrubs carpets, washes windows.
Employee is responsible for shoveling snow, sweeping and cleaning walks and assisting in keeping immediate outside premises and building entrances in an orderly condition. Also responsible for mowing and trimming grass during summer months and other outside related activities.
Employee is responsible for replacing light bulbs and make simple repairs to buildings and equipment, or report needed repairs to crew leader or supervisor.
Employee is responsible for moving furniture and equipment, deliver supplies, run errands as incidentals assignments.
Employee recognizes the need for sound environmental practices and applies them to their daily activities.
Employee is responsible for answering telephones/radio room when needed.
Performs other related work as required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
No previous experience and training required, however work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person is preferred. (Experience might include such things as manual labor in buildings and grounds; cleaning restrooms and offices, public and outdoor areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, buffing, etc.).
