The Homeland Group is looking for a Data Analyst to work in our Arlington, VA office and Washington, DC Location!US Citizenship and a Secret Clearance arerequiredbut a Top Secret Clearance isdesired.
The successful applicant will provide valuable analytic support for analysis efforts to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to protect against acts of terrorism. Typical duties will include:
Support the Federal Government Customer Program by applying risk models used to allocate grant resources to states, urban areas, ports, and transit systems.
Build and modify Excel-based tools to generate relative risk scores, implement policy decisions, and produce grant allocations.
Support data collection activities by performing analytic and quality control tasks on large data sets.
Knowledge or experience working with data relating to terrorism and security, economic analysis, military personnel, port facilities, waterborne commerce, mass transit agencies, critical infrastructure/key resources, spatial analysis, and cartography will be considered strengths for this position.
Ability to conduct geospatial analysis and feature layer manipulation to create advanced map solutions in ArcGIS and Google Earth Pro will be considered strengths for this position.
Write technical reports summarizing data relationships and policy decisions.
Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years of experience.
Must possess excellent writing skills and be able to clearly convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.) and ability to work with and manage large data sets.
Experienced in data visualization, extraction, cleansing, and analysis.
Must be able to work well under tight deadlines and in a team environment.
