What will you be doing?

The Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining all production, test, development and training environments running Oracle, SQL Server, Maria and Mongo DB.

The role requires daily involvement in Incident Management, Change, Performance, Capacity and Security management.

The Database Administrator will work with projects to design, build, implement and operate new services requiring database technology. The role also requires participation in a 24×7 call-out rota for P2, P1 and MSO incidents.

This will be achieved by_

Daily administration of multiple database systems across the virgin media estate.

Proactive performance and capacity activities to minimize operational downtime.

Management of administration of cloud based and traditional/internal environments.

Are you right for the role?

So it’s the moment of truth, right? What are we looking for in the successful candidate?

Significant operational hands on experience in MS SQL or Oracle (ideally both)

Working knowledge of MariaDB and/or MongoDB is also desirable.

Proven experience in database build, migration, patching & upgrades to new versions.

Previous experience in Database deployments to cloud environments.

Practical knowledge of Linux, Microsoft operating systems

Experience managing site-to-site disaster solutions
