Position Summary

This position requires a highly skilled Sales and Marketing Director with exceptional, transformative management practices. This position increases productivity, develop innovative policies and campaigns that shape the future of the organization, inspires and motivates the Sales and Marketing Team, and optimizes Hernon’s market share. This position is exceptionally well-versed in the latest sales and marketing techniques as well as tried and true practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee day-to-day sales, monitoring and forecasting to better understand the market.
  • Continually assess our marketing techniques and their efficacy in affecting sales.
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies and initiatives, business development, customer service, operations and sales support programs to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results
  • Stay up to date on current market trends.
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to assess current projections.
  • Own ultimate responsibility for successfully meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to creatively reach more potential customers.
  • Take calculated risks to increase profitability and brand recognition.
  • Work in a hands-on manner, building the team-provide motivation and inspiration.
  • Set the precedent for excellence through leading by example.
  • Cultivate and deepen client relationships and partnerships that add value.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of the industry to have realistic expectations of improvement
  • Assure all customers of pro-active high-quality customer service
  • Monitor and improve the company’s profitability and growth through motivation and training of sales and customer service personnel
  • Represent the company at appropriate shows and meetings with distributors
  • Establish and adjust selling prices by monitoring costs, competition and supply and demand
  • Ensure that all profit objectives are met through adherence of the company’s objectives

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field (Master’s Degree preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in management in a corporate setting.

  • Aware of the latest market trends and shifts, as well as projections for the future.
  • Evidence of ability to innovate and implement change successfully.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills to deal with internal and external business relations

  • Driven and committed to success while maintaining integrity.
  • Management skills to successfully perform the planning, directing, reporting, and administrative responsibilities of this position
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry and industry-related trends and forecasts
  • Analytical Skills: Synthesize complex or diverse information
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner as well as skillfully gather and analyze information
  • Communication: Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrate group presentation skills, and conduct productive meetings
  • Delegation: Delegate work assignments, give authority to work independently, set expectations, and monitor delegated activities
  • Leadership: Inspire and motivate others to perform well and accept feedback from others.
  • Management Skills: Involves staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating, and process improvement; be available to staff; provide regular performance feedback; and develop subordinates’ skills and encourages growth
  • Quality Management: Explore ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; and maintain compliance with legal and regulatory aspects
  • Judgment: Display willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgment; and make timely decisions
