Job Description


Relco Systems, Inc., is looking for an energetic and detail-oriented candidate for a new Dispatch Assistant position located in our Lockport, NY office.

The Dispatch Assistant will be responsible for all operational tasks required to support driver dispatching and ensure timely and accurate completion of loads and necessary paperwork. Candidates for this position should have a high attention to detail and ability to remain organized while performing data entry. The candidate will receive training on internal and external logistics software and on Relco Systems’ logistics operations more broadly. Experience with Microsoft Office email and strong computer skills will be essential to the role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain live load status updates in customer software systems and websites
  • Perform live updates in Relco Systems’ internal load tracking software, including but not limited to equipment information, load weights, order numbers, and driver assignments
  • Support dispatch in providing drivers with all information necessary to ensure the safe and timely delivery of loads and support them with any issues that arise in route
  • Monitor internal GPS tracking systems to ensure drivers’ on-time performance, review location updates and forecast any in-route concerns and notify customers immediately of any issues
  • Communicate with drivers and customers to support the timely and accurate completion of load and required paperwork
  • Support all load scheduling and appointing processes
  • Drive better performance with customer tracking systems by improving data entry in coordination with customer feedback
  • Support development of daily driver dispatch sheets

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Ideal candidates will be proficient with Microsoft Office suite; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to complete high levels of data entry / system updates; sound judgment and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize; thorough and detail oriented; good listening skills; while constantly maintaining a professional appearance.

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
