Hours of Work:12:00-20:00 Monday to Friday (Some slight flexibility in hours possible)

Objective: To ensure that all document amendments, alterations and revisions are done to the highest standard and to the customers’ satisfaction at all times.

The DPU Technician role will be responsible for ensuring that a first class customer service is offered and delivered to our clients from our department. You will ensure that job specifications and requirements are correctly and concisely followed, liaising with the customer and Team Leader if in doubt.

  • The primary function is to deliver a first class service to our client and customers
  • Excellent customer focus will be pivotal to the successful delivery of our objectives
  • Promote Mitie’s DPU and other Document Services and help drive volume back into these areas and reduce hours lost by secretaries carrying out these jobs themselves.
  • Show our experience by offering advice on particular ways to complete requests should the requestor not have the knowledge
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties to assist team and client whenever required
  • To be punctual, presentable and professional at all times
  • To promote a positive image of Mitie and the services we provide
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures for both Mitie and client

Main duties and accountabilities

  • Carry out the document amends and revisions as requested by the customer .
  • Carry out other reqiuests within the departmental remit – digital dictation, repairing documents, organisation charts, presentations as examples .
  • Using Workflow tool to check jobs in and out and to update changes to the workflow
  • Quality Controlling of work before final submission
  • Work with the shift Team Leader to ensure that prioritised jobs are done by deadline and importance.
  • Field general enquiries into the department when required
  • Be able to book jobs into the Workflow tool and job queue
  • Be able to work shifts to be agreed on days Monday to Friday

  • Exceptional communication is essential in both written and verbal form. Communications must be prompt, concise and clear
  • Working with deadlines and using all resources available to us is an essential requirement to managing workload on a daily basis
  • Managing client expectations as best practice, keeping clients informed on all relevant matters at all times
  • Being able to build client relationships will be hugely beneficial to the success of this role
  • Be open minded and offer assistance even if the task falls outside of our normal working practice

Knowledge & experience


  • Previous experience in a Document Production role
  • Very PC literate and able to work across a range of software packages
  • Follow instructions precisiely and interpret or check any that are unclear
  • Eye for detail and accurate in the work produced
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Must be able to communicate job specifications and be confident in dealing with multiple users
  • Must be a team player but also have the ability and confidence to work alone when needed


  • Workflow management experience in a busy environment
  • Experience of using the Service Now system (or similar)
  • Previous legal environment experience
