Position : Engineering Associate

Alternative Titles : Engineering Consultant, Engineering Executive, Engineering Advisor

Location : Probably home based, ideally in the region bounded by the M42 in the North, M5 in the West, M4 in the South, and M25 in the East

Salary package : Very negotiable but likely to be in the region of £40-60,000 plus bonus (tbc), car or car allowance, gym membership etc.

Please note : the hours of work for this position will be determined by what contracts or projects the company is currently working on. This may range from 5 hours per week to 40 plus hours per week during busy times.

About the company :

A relatively new company which has seen some great results in their first 2 years of trading and which has some very exciting plans for the future. They specialist in assisting companies to make significant improvements and / or savings in their engineering functions. This involves :-

·Carrying out in depth investigations into the current engineering processes, systems, hierarchy, software, data management, compliance, integration into the overall organisation etc

·Providing reports on findings and compiling improvement programmes

·Mentoring the delivery of the improvement programmes when adopted

·Acting as an external mentor for other paid for projects and contracts

About you :

·Degree Qualified as a minimum

·Chartered Engineer ; electrical bias is preferred but not necessarily essential

·As all of the work is carried out on client sites, excellent interpersonal skills are essential. You will need to be able to get people to buy into your recommendations even though those recommendations may infer that those people have made mistakes (including at Board level)

·Capable of planning and managing projects

·An understanding of CAD / CAM / FEA / CFD

·Experience of compliance is beneficial – ISO standards, CE Marking etc

·Experience of data management, design file compilation,

·Experience of managing multi-disciplined engineering teams

·Able to read and understand engineering drawings (mechanical and electrical schematics)

·Any commercial / business development experience or ability is beneficial

·Investigative and questioning, challenging

·Has the ability to be direct yet empathetic

·Strong personality

·Full UK driving licence
