L3Harris has an opening for an Engineering Technician. The Engineering Technician will perform set up, testing and debugging on a wide range of electronic products ranging from circuit cards to full communications systems. Will also process equipment loan requests and all steps associated with order preparation and equipment recovery. Responsible for equipment maintenance, engineering support, and a variety of internal customer service activities.
Read and interpret diagrams, tables and schematics to isolate problems.
Work from written test procedures and specification drawings to validate hardware.
Work with Engineers to resolve problematic issues and defects
Conducts debug operations and processes on equipment to determine full functionality.
Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of electronic assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences.
Collects and evaluates operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the engineering test process.
Works with engineers in conducting tests and experiments.
Processes requests to reserve, check-out, recover, and inventory an extensive array of test assets. Will be expected to learn the availability, use, and limitation of the test equipment..
Adjusts and calibrates systems as needed.
Modifies equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams and sketches.
Supports inbound requests for information, service, and support from external customers.
Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Ensure L3Harris policies and procedures are adhered to with regards to ESD, FOD, Housekeeping, Shelf life, calibration, etc.
Associate degree or certificate from an accredited two-year technical or military electronics program required. Two years of experience preferred but not required
C++ and Java development experience is required.
Basic electronics knowledge of RF and digital signals.
Good understanding of basic Digital and RF circuitry (e.g. modulation, demodulation) and be able to read electrical schematics.
Be comfortable using test equipment including RF signal generator, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes to perform trouble shooting down to the CCA and component level.
Be comfortable using PC based applications and be able to learn test and process tracking software as required.
Be able to follow written and verbal instructions using good communication skills.
Effective communication skills to expeditiously coordinate efforts of the team in asset management.
Ability to prioritize workload and be flexible and productive with little supervision.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.
