Nayr Recruitment are currently looking for an Environment Engineer for a contract role based in Berkeley. The role is expected to run for up to 12 months.
Duties of the position will include but are not limited to;
Safety, Environment & Security
Set out controls to ensure the safe delivery of tasks and ensure compliance with the local and company Management System
Maintain knowledge of the relevant local and company management systems
Establish a safe operational culture and provide safety, security& environmental leadership
Provide advice and guidance on the Site arrangements for environmental management.
Develop and maintain documentation/procedures in relevant aspects of environmental management.
Manage and support the collection, analysis and reporting of site discharges, radioactive disposals and environmental monitoring programme as appropriate ensuring compliance with the site’s Certificate of Authorisation and Compilation of Environment Agency Requirements.
Produce and maintain the consent under the Environmental Impact (EIAD) regulations, including environmental impact assessments as appropriate.
Maintain ISO 14001 certification as appropriate.
Ensure the production and maintenance of any required permits, consents and other regulatory approvals as required
Support the Site and Project implementation of environmental & waste arrangements.
Support the management of land contamination plans as required.
Monitor performance and take action or provide advice as necessary to maintain standards and improve performance.
Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism.
Support the effective deployment of company-wide policies, processes, systems and procedures ensuring that at all time the business remains compliant. This includes, but is not limited to, the need to comply with the company’s Equality and Diversity Policy and undertake identified associated learning and development activities Applicants must be Educated to NQF level 5 / NVQ Level 5 in relevant subject e.g. HND. Applicants must also have relative experience from past related roles and a detailed knowledge of relevant environmental legislation.
Whilst not essential, the following would be beneficial:
Experience at a nuclear site
Detailed Knowledge of International/ISO Standards
Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 as appropriate
