Equity, Diversity and Disability Officer Job at Edith Cowan University – in Mount Lawley WA
Within the Student Wellbeing team, the Equity, Diversity and Disability services team provides expert assistance to students and staff in the management, administration and coordination of student equity, diversity and disability services. This role works closely with other teams in the Student Wellbeing team; the Counselling team provide a confidential psychological counselling service for students; and the Health Services team provides medical and nursing services for students and staff.
Reporting to the Manager, Counselling and Equity, this position provides operational expertise in the development, implementation, management and evaluation of processes related to student support, specialising in equity, diversity and disability issues. The position provides advice and support to students and staff in the resolution of support requests relating to these issues. The position has responsibility for monitoring compliance of equal opportunity legislation in the provision of services to students.
Comprehensive knowledge and experience working with relevant legislation, policies, processes and guidelines related to equity, diversity and disability and Equal Opportunity
Building rapport and forming positive working relationships with all internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders/communities
Ability to influence the decisions, actions or perceptions of others and to be collaborative and collegial when doing so.
Be able to create networks which foster a complementary mix of knowledge, skills and abilities, in order to achieve goals and to add mutual benefit and value to the organisation
Relevant experience in the higher education sector and/or knowledge of working with an academic environment is highly desirable.
Applications from Occupational Therapists or other relevant allied health professionals are also encouraged.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time ongoing position attracts remuneration of $90,220 – $101,090 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
