Job Description

  • As part of this role, you will need to be proactive in solving business needs and being able to effectively maintain our mechanical equipment and systems.

You will need to ensure safety, be able to work under pressure and independently while upholding our engineering standards.

This role is in the Engineering department and will be reporting to the General Engineering Superintendent.


  • Recognised Fitter Trade Test

Grade 12 or Technical N2 (4 subjects – trade specific)

Additional Information

3+ year’s post trade experience as a Fitter in Underground Engineering maintenance

Experience in underground machinery e.g. Continuous Miner, Shuttle Cars, Roof Bolters, Feeder Breakers and belt maintenance

Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, do root cause analysis and fault finding on machinery

Computer Literate

Valid South African Driver’s license

Be prepared to work overtime and do standby duties and call-outs if needed
