THE WORKOUT CLUB

Position: Front Desk Supervisor
Department: Operations Management
Status: FT-Salary-Exempt (Commission)
Report to: Club General Manager

The Front Desk Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight of gym operations to ensure an exceptional member experience as well as a financially successful club. The Front Desk Supervisor will be accountable for leading a team of employees in a positive, motivating manner with continuous assistance in employee training and development. They will ensure the Front Desk and Kids Corner operate at maximum efficiency while role-modeling the company’s values and culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Recruit, hire, train and develop a high performing staff consisting of Front Desk Staff, Kids Corner and Party Staff.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensure staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
  • Managing all day-to-day operations of Front desk and Kids Corner. Create work schedules to ensure all shifts are covered and stay within budget.
  • Ensure prompt opening/closing of gym.
  • Front Desk Supervisor assumes the responsibilities of the club in the absence of the managers.
  • Enforcing all WC policies and procedures are followed, such as enforcing company dress code, time and attendance and cell phone policies.
  • Facilitate proper member check-in, telephone inquiry, guest registration, replacement of member ID cards, delinquent account procedures, account changes, request, cancellations, and updates.
  • Lead by example and maintain consistent accountability for direct reports by training and coaching, ensuring adherence to WC’s values and goals.
  • Resolve employee issues or concerns. Following up with and holding all staff members accountable in all areas of their roles and responsibilities. Manage disciplinary/termination activities.
  • Delegating cleaning and other assignments to all staff members.
  • Ensuring club is more than ready for monthly club inspections.
  • Ensure safety of employees, members, and club property.
  • Determine and communicate equipment repair in a timely manner.
  • Manage and handle Birthday Party calls, inquiries, and bookings.
  • Working within budget for ordering and controlling of all club supplies.
  • Ensure nightly closing paperwork is correct.

Secondary Job Duties and Responsibilities
SALES AS NEEDED

  • Provide back-up support to the sales team goals by executing all areas of the Workout Club sales process creating the urgency to join as needed.
  • Mastering the tour to close at least 70% of new members, ensuring 70% of new members booked into the initial fitness assessment and obtain at least 3 VIP guests
  • Builds excitement and value with the potential new member to ensure their first impression of the club is a good one, therefore guaranteeing they will join
  • Creates enough value on the tour, therefore ensuring the new member will enroll in their initial fitness appointment
  • Become skilled at creating rapport and building relationships with potential new members, guaranteeing they will provide you with referrals
  • Promptly respond to prospects and member inquiries.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
  • Experience working as a Front Desk Lead at WC.
  • Exceptional leadership, diplomacy and listening skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency in Data Trak, Club OS, Word, and Excel.
  • Hard working, enthusiastic and energetic!
  • Strong problem resolution skills.
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required.

Physical Demands:

  • Continual standing and walking during shift.
  • Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 – $37,000.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Salem, NH 03079: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
