Position Purpose Summary:
The Divisional Specialist is responsible for the support and management of overall casework & spiritual care services offered to families and individuals through the Pathway of Hope (POH) initiative at identified Corps/Ministry Units. The Divisional Specialist will work collaboratively with the Territorial Pathway of Hope Team to support the implementation of Pathway of Hope objectives including monitoring, and supporting Corps/MU staff involved in Pathway of Hope, execution of strategic POH initiatives, collection of data, and reporting on outcomes for the Division.
Support of POH Corps/MU Clusters:
Provide ongoing support and administrative oversight over POH Corps/MU in the implementation of Pathway of Hope
Assist in the rollout of POH across the Division
Contribute and collaborate with THQ, DHQ, and Senior Leadership on divisional strategic direction
Assist in creating appropriate training materials for corps/MU and update as needed
Ensure the Divisional ministry units providing pathway of hope supports are maintaining client quota
Responsible for ensuring MU are actively using the client management software, Link2Feed
Provide direct case consultation and technical assistance to caseworkers and interns, as requested
Provide divisional strategic recommendations to increase the number of ministry units providing POH support services
Direct connect with each POH Corps/MU staff and officers at least monthly (could be virtual) to offer support and information regarding community linkages, programmatic requirements including intake processes, intervention strategies and collection of data needed to meet program reporting requirements
Assist in recruiting, interviewing and training of new employees directly involved in Pathway of Hope
Support the Territorial Pathway of Hope Team to provide caseworker orientation & ongoing training
Support the Territorial POH Team to Collect, analyses and evaluated corps/MU data
Ensure quality of POH planning and implementation by participation with POH planning and program development at sites
Ensure consistent communication by participating in weekly, biweekly or monthly conference calls with the Pathway of Hope Corps/MU participants, Territorial POH Regional Coordinator, Corps/MU case workers, officers/Spiritual Care Representatives and the Division
Ensure consistent internal communication and understanding of POH developments by sharing electronic and hard copies of updated information with Divisional staff and Corps/MU. Assist the Territorial POH Team in preparing the monthly reports to the Divisional and Area Commanders
Ensure quality of local data and reporting of information that will support territorial POH outcomes and evaluation process
Ensure relevance and consistency of POH by collaborating with the Territory and Division with ongoing development of policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and outcome-based measures related to the POH
Ensure relevance of POH approach to funders by keeping current on program funding resources, both public and private, and assist the Territory and Division to seek funding
Pathway of Hope Program Evaluation and Outcomes Measurements:
Ensure the accuracy of data entry into the client management software system Link2Feed
Oversee divisional annual POH evaluations/outcomes measurement and POH reporting
Report any POH implementation challenges and work with the Territory and Division to address program development needs
Collaborate with the Territory and Division on the development of a POH implementation plan as requested and/or assigned
Serve on the committees related to POH as assigned
Education and Training:
Provide POH coaching and one on one training of individual employees and ministers/officers
Plan, conduct, and/or participate in POH workshops and other training events at the territorial, divisional or local level, as requested and/or assigned
Maintain a POH trained personnel database, updating all information quarterly following POH evaluation reviews of each unit
Assist plan, conduct and/or participate in other social service workshops and other staff training events at the territorial, divisional or local level, as requested and/or assigned
Provide referrals, guidance, and promote the spiritual dimension of the Salvation Army social services programs, emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach to working with POH clients
Provide supervision for social work student interns, as requested and/or assigned
Complete file reviews and annual review of compliance with standards in order to assure for program evaluation/certification requirements
Degree in Human Resoures and/or Social work
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
Minimum of two years of experience in the supervision of comparable social service programs that offer multi-faceted casework interventions designed to address the needs of families utilizing a strengths-based approach

Skills and Capabilities:
Experience and/or strong interest in community outreach, organization and community capacity development
Must have an interest and ability to work with people and clients of diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner
Ability to collaborate on complex social issues within families and communities
Demonstrated capacity to teach adults
Possess strong computer skills, including knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office 365 applications and the ability to effectively manage a digital filing system
Ability to enter data and perform statistical analysis efficiently and accurately
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral);
Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:
A clear criminal record check
Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually
HOURS: 35 hours per week
