GENERAL HAND 2 – ID 3 Job at UK Government – Ministry of Defence in Marlborough

Job Description

Clean and inspect Pool fleet vehicles prior to tasking, top-up oils and Lubricants as required.

Identify vehicle mechanical faults, warning light faults, check for damage and record/ report findings to the Maintenance Clerk (MC) or TSU Unit Accident Procedures Manager (UAPM).



Responsibilities

Act as POC for all Garage and TSU vehicle manoeuvring areas wrt H&S, vehicle cleanliness, stock control.

Ensure the COSHH assessments are raised with the TSU SHE against all new products used within the Vehicle cleaning area.

Identify environmentally friendly products that come on to the market reducing the Environmental impact on the estate and local community.

Clean and inspect Pool fleet vehicles prior to tasking, top-up oils and Lubricants as required.

Raise mechanical, warning light faults immediately to Maintenance clerk (MC)

Raise new damage to vehicles via the TSU Unit Accident Procedures Manager (UAPM)

Ensure stock is ordered and rotated on all consumables.

Assist the Maintenance clerk with base line maintenance (bulb change, Ad Blue top-up etc.).

Ensure all visitors requiring access to the TSU Garage/Vehicle manoeuvring areas follows H&S policy of the Unit, providing equipment and support as necessary.

Use Agency card when required iaw Policy, Rules & Guidance.

Complete adhoc driven details and/or Administrative functions if required

Physically demanding role; Movement of equipment and stores – Familiarisation and Manual Handling training will be provided.

Licence Requirements

A Full Manual UK Driving Licence is required with Categories (B, BE, C1, C1E, D1, D1E). D Licence would be highly desirable but not Mandatory for this role.
