Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, you’ll be an integral part of the management team providing direction to the company’s manufacturing engineering and manufacturing operations functions and coordination with the supply chain, quality, R&D and service functions.
To that end, some of your primary responsibilities would include:
Leading the scale-up of manufacturing from initial manufacture to full serial production, for both Manufacturing Operations and Manufacturing Engineering.
Working with Commercial team to plan for forecast demand to ensure customer satisfaction and company sales goals are achieved or exceeded;
Providing direction, motivation and resources to the manufacturing teams and liaising with supply chain teams to assist their development of highly effective systems and tools;
Optimising efficiency by championing leading edge manufacturing techniques and LEAN principles and driving down paper bureaucracy;
Developing our ERP system to fully meet the needs of manufacturing;
Managing the execution of multiple manufacturing engineering work-streams to ensure on-time delivery of production improvement and quality goals;
Managing all aspects of the NPI process from change planning, through process automation and introduction to the line;
Developing and holding your team accountable to executing the annual supply plan, providing monthly and quarterly updates to proactively manage opportunities and risks;
Establishing regular and efficient management reporting against project plan and budget for the engineering activities within manufacturing;
Establishing regular and efficient visualisation, management reporting and KPI dashboards for production output and processes to track progress on delivery, manufacturing efficiency and product quality;
Supporting recruitment, training and motivating employees to set highest possible standards for quality, efficiency, technical capability, and GMP compliance
Leading the manufacturing teams through effective planning and communication of company vision and team objectives.
You will have experience of operating at an upper senior management level in a highly regulated manufacturing environment of complex electro-mechanical devices, preferably in the medical devices, automotive or aerospace sectors. This experience must include both Manufacturing Operations and Manufacturing Engineering.
You will have had significant experience of assembly processes for high value, low volume production.
