Job Description

As a Customer Care Assistant, think of yourself as the face of your restaurant. In a nutshell, you’ll deal with customers and make sure everything runs as it should in the customer areas. Activities include making children feel welcome, handing out balloons, looking after customers’ specific needs, keeping high standards of cleanliness in the dining area and toilets and helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It’s your responsibility to establish and maintain positive communication with customers at all times and to keep the manager informed about customer satisfaction.

You may also take part in the planning and implementation of children’s parties, coffee mornings, children’s competitions and other special events organised by your restaurant. A franchised restaurant is a restaurant operated by a local business person trading under the McDonald’s name. Currently over half of our restaurants in the UK are franchised but from a customer point of view there’s no difference.

Position Requirements

Quite simply, you’ll be working in our fast moving, high energy environment and we’re looking for a genuine smile plus an ability to connect with customers and make them feel valued. If you take pride in your work and enjoy delivering a fantastic Customer Experience you will be perfect to help with our new Table Service platform.

The type of shifts we are looking for to fill this role will vary between 7am-4pm, 12-8pm, 4pm-midnight.

You’ll be the person who offers our customers a warm welcome to the restaurant and anticipates what they need. That means everything from clearing trays and explaining the menu, to getting to know our regular customers. Working mostly in the dining area, you’ll monitor quality and cleanliness and ensure everything runs smoothly. We’ll train you in our high standards of customer service, cleanliness and hygiene. But the rest is up to you.

Friendly, courteous and helpful behaviour will come naturally to you and you’ll work well as part of a team. Effective communication skills are a must-have, including skills like attentive listening, face-to-face verbal communication and eye contact. You’ll also need to understand the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and service as well as cleanliness. The ability to maintain high energy levels whilst working both efficiently and productively is essential. Finally, your appearance should be smart and clean.
