Immigration Compliance Officer Job at University of Kent – in Canterbury
You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the University to ensure that we continue to comply with our duties in relation to sponsoring international students under the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points Based System.
We are looking for people who are good at organising and prioritising their work and who are able to deal confidently with students and staff at all levels. Previous experience and understanding of the UK’s immigration system, including the student route and current UKVI policy, is highly desirable, although you will be given everything you need to develop this expertise and use it to advise on student visa matters, helping us to continue to recruit international students and deliver an excellent experience for them.

As Immigration Compliance Officer, you can expect to get involved in:
delivering an effective and timely service in relation to sponsorship of students, ensuring the University complies with immigration regulations at all times
handling the process, including checking documentation, for new and continuing students, recording accurately, and managing complex cases
responding to enquiries and providing information on immigration matters to students and staff, including delivering workshops and training to individuals or groups
supporting with the preparation and organisation of key events such as Welcome Weekend and audits
What we are looking for in the right candidate:
an education to A level or equivalent experience
excellent IT skills, particularly MS Office packages
experience of producing reports and evaluating data
good attention to detail and accuracy
