Overview

SUMMARY

The application specialist serves as the tier two point of contact for users, support requests, helpdesk and solving escalated issues for the suite of application supporting the transportation and logistics operations at PetroChoice.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude but are not limited to the following. Responds to frequent and potentially complex problems from end users and executive management in a timely, positive and professional manner.

Plan, design and execute system testing from simple to complex implementations for the transportation and logistical software and workflows.

Participate in the design and recommendations of enhancements and workflow development.

Develops test plans, test cases, test scripts and test reports.

Validates that user expectations are achieved during the testing process.

Coordinates new customer on-boarding process for users of transportation suite of applications including account setup and technical assistance around the design, building, testing and delivery, Translates user needs into functional business requirements and liaises with users and developers to refine and develop workable solutions within the platform.

Develops and potentially delivers remote training to new project teams.

Assists senior product team with group training activities, the development/upkeep of user support materials and communication strategies to support new feature release.

Facilitates and assists in developing, implementing and monitoring standards or best practices for platform maintenance and data management.

Complete documentation on time and accurately using current technology.

Performs duties in accordance with PetroChoice’s values, policies, and procedures. Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and corporation.

Responsibilities

Provide 1st and 2nd level hardware and software technical support

Answers inquiries via telephone, email, in person, and ticket submission

Perform hardware and software maintenance and upgrades as required

Manage user accounts generation, user permissions, and access rights

Setup, manage, and troubleshoot various network (wired and wireless) connected devices

Prioritize and resolve issues or escalate to correct support team as necessary

Document problems/issues and user information in the ticket tracking system

Author problem resolutions in a knowledge management system

Look for opportunities to automate repetitive tasks using tools like PowerShell and batch scripting

Evaluate resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly IT maintenance as required

Provide relocation support for users who change locations in buildings or sites

Remote monitoring and desktop work using tools such as Bomgar and Skype for Business

Create, update, manage, and deploy PC images in support of tier 2 team when required
