Installs, configures and upgrades computer hardware and software systems. Supports multiple servers including Windows, 2000 and Novell Netware. Knowledge of LAN, WAN, MAN and Internet connectivity. Has comment of multiple operation systems including Windows 9X, 2000, XP and DOS used by work stations, stand alone PCs and laptops. Experience in website development and maintenance. Initiates technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties:


Monitors, maintenance and performs LAN/WAN/MAN management, including user resources, group access, file systems, security performance, Internet management, (including connectivity), keeps server Anti-Virus and client virus protection current under the supervision of the IT Manager.

Installs, configures, upgrades and performs ongoing support and maintenance of multiple network services including: IIS, (Internet Information Systems), DNS, (Domain Naming Service), DHCP, (Dynamic Host Control Protocol), TCP/IP, WINS, (Windows Internet naming Service) and Active Directory.

Installs, monitors and maintains LAN/WAN/MAN hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes and terminals. Installs peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, disk drives and CD-ROM drives for network nodes and stand alone PCs. Including software, operation systems, utilities, multi-user software applications (network software applications), etc.

Understands and troubleshoots network infrastructure and components, including cables, hubs, switches, routers, NICS, USB ports, etc., as well as moderately complex network problems. Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.

Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation. Performs proactive network and server maintenance and diagnostics. Resolves and/or corrects network problems that may occur. Maintains network stability. Communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups and downtime to users authorized by the IT Manager.

Researches and acquires technical support documentation for the ITS. Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts. Writes and maintains documentation for projects and procedures.


Demonstrated proficiency in Windows 2000 and Netware server support and related network protocols, (e.g.; TCP/IP, IIS, DNS, IPX/SPX, WINS) and verifiable experience with networking products such as hugs, switches and routers required. Experience in project management and Internet Technologies support preferred. Associates degree in computer sciences or equivalent experience.
