The Manager, Customer Relations Medical Team is a critical role within Johnson & Johnson Vision Care (JJVC) to manage the medical complaint handling process for JJVC Device and Combination Product Contact Lenses in the US and globally to implement best practices for medical complaint management ensuring quality and compliance requirements are met.

This position ensures that the medical complaints are documented, evaluated, and reported to regulatory authorities around the globe on a timely basis. The incumbent will represent JJVC with FDA and other worldwide regulators on the topic of medical complaints and adverse event reporting. They will also ensure worldwide vigilance reports including Medical Device Reporting(MDR)/ Medical Device Vigilances (MDV) are reported in a timely manner. In addition, the position partners with other JJVC entities such as Global Medical Safety, R&D, Marketing, Professional Affairs, Franchise Product Quality, Global Commercial Quality and Regional Country Managers.

Manages and leads team of ~9 Customer Relations medical team members responsible for worldwide adverse event reporting.

Serves as Customer Relations medical team subject matter expert with the goal of evaluating, investigating and responding to medical and product quality complaints and technical inquiries regarding JJVC products.

Ensures compliance with worldwide medical device complaint vigilance / reporting requirements MDR/MDV and non-MDR requirements on complaint files and other documents within the department.

Gives expertise to programs and projects. Facilitates successful team behavior within and across functional areas by building cross-functional support.

Recommends and guides implementation of functional strategies; manages departmental/projects day-to-day operations within area of responsibility. Spokesperson for medical team.

Promotes the business value of diverse perspectives. Persuades the team to bring about process and technical improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelors’ degree required; degree concentration in Science or Nursing is preferred.

A minimum of 8 years medical or clinical related experience required

Previous people management experience required

Strong written and oral communication skills required

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required

Understanding of FDA, ISO and other governmental complaint vigilance and reporting requirements preferred

Up to 10-15% travel may be required.
