  • As the Learning and Development Practitioner for the site, you will be responsible for supporting the HR and Business Excellence teams in driving key learning and development initiatives and manage compliance. Reporting to the local HR Manager, the role will be responsible for:

Providing strong training expertise to the site with a deep understanding of company business needs and related strategy; providing advice, guidance, support and communication on all learning and development initiatives

Working with the local HR and Business Excellence teams to deliver training solutions

Supporting HR in local development activities

Job Description

Tracking of training projects with MERSETA: Claims, grant refunds, Apprentice registration and portfolio management, link between Line Management, the trainee and SETA and tax rebate tracking on training activities

Service provider relationship management

Risk and compliance portfolio management relating to BBBEE, MERSETA statutory reporting and audits

Support Site identified learning and development and succession planning initiatives

Drive all learning and development recruitment activities such as Apprenticeships, In-Service Trainees, Learnerships, Internships, etc.

Assist with annual WSP and ATR compilation as per SETA requirements

Management of SETA online profile as per requirements

Assist with annual training budget preparation in line with business needs

Business Excellence:
Support E-Learning platform (framework development, stakeholder involvement, funding propositions, training stations/facilities, etc.)

Geneo project support (online medium for shop floor STAC testing, etc.)

Assist in building Geneo system capabilities


  • A relevant tertiary degree in Industrial Psychology or Human Resource Management is essential

Registered Skills Development Facilitator

At least 3 – 5 years relevant hands-on experience in a similar learning and development function

Six Sigma yellow Belt or similar qualification will be an added advantage

Sound Knowledge of Skills Development Act, BBBEE, MERSETA, Leadership development and training tools

Criteria skills and competencies

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Sound presentation skills and a flair

Able to work both independently and as part of a team

Excellent Microsoft package experience (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point)

Knowledge and application of relevant HR legislation

Problem solving skills

Must have a natural flair for driving projects effectively to conclusion phase through partnerships

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Ability to independently interact with internal and external customers with limited supervision
