Marketing and Office Assistant Job at Meridian Sculpture – in Fitzroy VIC

Job Description

We’re looking for a skilled admin and marketing support to help grow our online presence while assisting in the day-to-day operations of a busy foundry. The role will report to the Operations Manager while also working closely with the Director. To begin with the role will be on site at our foundry in Fitzroy, however for the right candidate a split between working from home and in the office is an option. The role will commence at 2-3 days per week in a casual position but there is the option for growth into a part time or permanent full-time position as the person develops. The working hours for the role are 8:30-5:30pm with the days to be discussed with the right candidate.

Key Marketing Responsibilities

Write and develop story content for eDM, social media, advertising, web and more as required

Generate image content and edit images for social channels and website

Seek permission to use images from clients

Monitor performance of posts and make alterations accordingly

Identify conversion points and optimise user funnels across socials and website

Develop strategies to optimise customer experience and ensure Meridian brand consistency – integrate website and socials seamlessly

Regular website maintenance. Including uploading new projects as they are completed and uploading blog content.

Admin and Office Responsibilities

Reception tasks, answering the phone and greeting clients at the door

Coordinate the smooth running of the foundry on days when in the office solo. Ensuring the administrative systems run with ease and any project updates are clearly communicated.

Support and grow the online store, including managing workshop bookings and packing online orders.

Other ad hoc tasks e.g., ordering supplies, organising receipts and invoices, picking up items from stores, watering plants and managing couriers.


An interest and background in the arts

Ability to take high quality images of artworks and edit as required, folio to show

Passion for social media and strong proficiency in the use of all major social media platforms.

Demonstrable experience in marketing

Background in writing copy for a business, examples to show

Solid knowledge of advertising and analytic tools such as Facebook Business manager, Google Ad Words and Google Analytics

Previous reception work as this is a client facing role at times

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to identify target audiences and respond creatively

Positive attitude and an energetic, approachable, and warm personality

Excellent time management skills, ability to work to deadlines

Drivers Licence
