This position ensures the supply of materials meet all requirements and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity to meet customer demand and build targets. Additionally, this role is responsible for leading the monthly/weekly Sales and Operation Planning process to make certain demand, stock levels, and production are aligned.This position requires a proactive attitude and effective analytical, communications, and negotiation skills to propose solutions and achieve results across the organization.The Production Planner is responsible for the development and maintenance of the schedule that is used for planning purposes and tactically executing/converting planned/production orders in SAP. This position ensures the supply of materials meet all requirements and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity to meet customer demand and build targets. Additionally, this role is responsible for leading the monthly/weekly Sales and Operation Planning process to make certain demand, stock levels, and production are aligned. This position requires a proactive attitude and effective analytical, communications, and negotiation skills to propose solutions and achieve results across the organization.Roles/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:* Capable of completing all functions and sought after as an expert and able to provide coaching to peers.* Able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements.* Tactically execute T-Codes in SAP driving/converting production requirements.* Able to connect activities, objectives, goals to the functional or business strategy.* Ability to build a business case/scenario to support supply chain proposals. Understand how to create, read and comprehend complex business reports and analysis.* Monitors and supports all supply chain metrics performance, recommends corrective actions and strategies as required.* Ability to lead S & OP integration activities with proficient knowledge of the 5 step S & OP Process.* Collaborate with Production Planning Peers to manage exceptions caused by significant, unexpected events in sales and operations* Participant for new product introductions or product discontinuation projects in support of inventory target levels, service levels, and manufacturing efficiencies.* Develop an executable rolling three months MPS for Manufacturing* Identify and report on any significant variances between forecasted sales and the organization’s budget and business plan* Key contributor to the Sales & Operations Planning (S & OP) process.* Facilitate Supply Consensus and Review meetings.* Develop analysis and reports related to inventory level projections, recovery plans, capacity requirements, performance metrics, etc. as required.* Responsible for WW Finished Goods management, Lower Level Bulk and inventory turns* Key owner of the back order and order fulfillment metrics* Participant in yearly budgeting process, especially for establishment of yearly demand/production volumes.* Responsible for the deployment of the Supply Plan, targeting two year ends.* Responsible for converting forecasted product demand into a Long Term Plan (LTP) that acts as a Rough Cut Capacity Plan (RCCP) for the manufacturing site.* Evolve and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for demand supply planning processes and systems.Qualifications:* Requires BA/BS in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management.* Minimum of 3 years’ planning experience in a manufacturing environment required.* Experience planning Biologics or Reagents a PLUS* Minimum 3 years’ of experience in S & OP* Proficiency with statistical and forecasting methods* Solid knowledge of Supply Chain procedures (Demand/Supply/Production Planning, capacity leveling, product deployment and inventory control)* Experience in a manufacturing environment coordinating multi-discipline activities* Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.)* Customer Focus* Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation are required* Detail-oriented individual with a strong ability to multi-task* Familiarity with an ERP and MRP systems and common software applications a must* Advanced Excel skills* APICS CPIM certification and SAP knowledge preferred.Becton, Dickinson and Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
