Full Time – 40 hours/week

Schedule: Monday-Friday- flexible hours

We are currently seeking a Medical Records Specialist in our Seattle clinic. This position processes incoming medical record requests from patients and outside providers, scan and transfer patient medical records into our medical records system, and handles all incoming medical records and distributes appropriately.

General Duties

Responsible for incoming medical record requests. Processes requests in compliance with clinics policies and procedures. Documentation is made in patient’s medical record once request has been processed.

Responsible for incoming medical records. Ensures that all new patients’ medical records are available for the patient’s appointment. Also ensures that all established patient medical records are distributed appropriately. Documentation is made in patient’s medical record to indicate location of records.

Responsible for scanning in patients’ medical records in our electronic medical record system Scanning includes but not limited to: new patient packet, consents, patient identification, test results-in house, test results-outside, anesthesia records, embryo records SRM, embryo records outside, outside provider records, pathology results, patient face sheet, record release form, referral, semen chain of custody, FDA summary of record, FDA genetic evaluation, FDA physical exam, FDA risk management, images, and operative report.

Retrieves all messages from medical record voice mailbox daily. Return calls when necessary.

Interacts with various departments and is required to maintain professionalism at all times.

Responsible for incoming medical records from an outside facility. Documentation is made in the patient’s medical record to indicate location of records.

. Requirements:
An ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and 1 year of experience in a medical office setting.
