Your Career at Baxter

This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a Microbiology professional to join our dedicated and close-knit team at our on-site campus in Old Toongabbie.

You will be part of our integral QA team performing the complete range of microbiological and environmental testing of the plant and products to GMP standards in order to meet regulatory requirements and Baxter’s master production schedule. This role will play a significant part in ensuring all testing is performed and compiled for critical work orders. You will be working on a day shift from Tuesday to Saturday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

This role is a 12-Month FTC with a strong view to a possible extension for someone who is looking to grow and develop their career further within the Pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Microbiology and Sterility Assurance Manager to ensure quality specifications and standards are met.

Ensure that actions for Change Controls and Validation protocols, relating to Microbiological testing are executed

Perform and be proficient in all testing requirements for Manufacturing facility and Pharmacy Services.

Coordinate the validation of Pharmacy operators and processes: sterile media fills for operator and processes, aseptic gowning and chemical accuracy testing

Perform water testing on non-distilled and distilled water throughout the manufacturing facility as per routine sampling and investigational monitoring

Liaise with Manufacturing, Pharmacy Services and other QA staff to communicate test results and to assist in adherence to standards and process control

Perform temperature monitoring at required frequency in Laboratory

Participate in laboratory cross-training and provide support to fellow team members as required

Provide support to the microbiology activities, such as testing assistance, troubleshooting, evaluation of results and trending

Perform other duties as may be required by Microbiology and Sterility Assurance Manager.

Key Requirements:
Relevant qualification in Microbiology or experience in laboratory and environmental microbiology

Proven skills in environmental monitoring in a manufacturing environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Personal computer skills and data analytical capabilities
