Job Description
Salary: £8.95ph to £10.00ph (linked to competency and qualifications) + a night supplement of £25 per night shift worked
Hours: 4 week rota pattern – average 40 hours per week.

We are currently looking for a Night Support Worker in Meldreth (South Cambridgeshire / North Hertfordshire boarder Nr Royston), where our Aurora Orchard Manor offers a supportive living and learning environment for young adults who have severe and profound learning difficulties and is one of the few services in the country that is also able to support those with complex health needs and associated difficulties.
Orchard Manor provides a transitional opportunity for individuals to move from education into adulthood with a focus on person-centred programmes to promote independence.
We work with people with multiple disabilities who may have sensory and physical impairments who benefit from our specialist facilities that have been designed to meet their needs.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Provide the highest level of care for our young adults
Assist with getting them ready for bed which includes washing and changing
Encouraging a healthy sleeping pattern where possible
Checking on them all throughout the night and dealing with any incidents that may occur
Ensuring that medical needs are met at all times
This is a waking night position; so in the quiet periods you will also be expected to get involved in some light housekeeping duties (such as loading the dishwasher, laundry and keeping the environment tidy).
In the morning you’ll then assist with supporting our young adults to get up, washed and dressed, ready for the day.
The key to this role will be your ability to communicate effectively, build trusting relationships and provide the support required to enable our young adults to become more autonomous.

It is a tough yet totally rewarding role. Ultimately, we are looking for people with a passion to build relationships and positively change the lives of the young adults that we work with. So, whilst previous experience would be highly beneficial; it’s not essential. What’s more important to us is that you can demonstrate the right attitude to make a difference.
