We are looking for a Permitting Coordinator to join our team!

This role will serve as an important component to projects by ensuring that Enbridge has acquired all permits required to begin construction. You will work with key internal departments such as Drafting, Engineering, and the Customer Attachment Centre as well as external partners including local municipalities.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):
Prepare and issue permit applications according to municipality requirements.

Monitor and follow up on permits to ensure prompt returns and to identify and address any problems daily.

Responsible for maintaining and promoting a positive company image to all outside contacts including consultants, outside utility companies, external contractors and customers and those from various cities and municipalities.

Responsible for ensuring that all other parties involved in the project creation have completed their assigned tasks including the Approval for Expenditures (AFE), Purchase Orders (POs) for re-billable projects, environmental checklists, and land request forms for easements, water crossings, railroads, major highways, TransCanada Pipeline crossings, etc.

Responsible for issuing preliminary drawings to the Customer Attachment and Construction group.

Responsible for the preparation of project packages for the Construction team which includes valve tags, copies of permit approval forms or letters, compression couplings forms, etc. that may be required in the field.

Coordinate planning workflow processes between Drafting, Special Projects, Network Analysis, Engineering and Customer Attachment.

Review communications from permitting agencies and notify the Planner of any identified conflicts.

Review, assign and/or complete prerequisites in Maximo and update work logs.

Answer inquiries received in-person, by telephone, email, or hard copy letter regarding the status of permits.

Once all permits are obtained, approved, the AFE has been approved, the job is deemed eligible to go to Construction, and the construction package is prepared, the Construction team is advised that the job is now ready.

Who You Are (Qualifications):
Minimum secondary school education or equivalent.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and with good judgment.

Able to meet required deadlines.

Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate messages and ensure effective delivery to both internal and external customers and contractors.

Results oriented with the ability to handle many tasks and maintain a high level of individual and team performance all while focused on providing excellent customer service.

Physically capable of lifting and prolonged amounts of standing.

Sound knowledge of all company and department policies and procedures.

Excellent keyboarding skills (45 WPM)

Sound knowledge of company standard PC software including Maximo, Microsoft Word and Excel.

GIS and CIS experience.

Knowledge of Bentley View, Web Mapping, i-Viewer, Document Tracker, Bentley Redline.

Ability to read drawings and understand terminology used within the department.
